- Tell us what the door is doing. We'll tell you straight whether we can get there.
- The truck shows up loaded. Springs, cables, rollers, brackets, common opener parts.
- We read the opener's fault history and check the whole system. Springs, cables, drums, track, rollers, hinges, seals.
- You get the price before a tool comes out. You say yes or you don't.
- We fix it, cycle the door, and reset the force, the travel and the safety reversal.

Around Grand Rapids a lot of people still call it an overhead door. Same door, same springs, same tracks. We fix the ones that won't open, won't close, hang crooked, bang or grind, and we hang new ones when the old one is past saving.
What goes wrong on an overhead door
- The spring. A loud bang from the garage, then the door won't lift or comes up a few inches and stops. The spring carries the weight. When it breaks, the opener can't.
- The cables. The door hangs crooked or one side drops. A cable frayed or jumped the drum. We replace both and re-tension them.
- The rollers and track. It grinds, shakes, or came off the track. We take the tension off, re-seat it and put new rollers in.
- The opener. It hums and nothing moves, it reverses on its own, or the remote's dead. We read the unit's own fault codes and fix the eyes and settings on the spot. A dead opener gets a new one off the truck.
- A panel. Backed into it. One section can usually be swapped and the rest of the door stays.

The one thing we don't do
We don't service or install TorqueMaster spring systems. If your springs are hidden inside a tube above the door, that's TorqueMaster, and we'll say so on the phone instead of driving out.

Overhead door questions
Is an overhead door the same as a garage door?
Yes. Overhead door is the older name for the same thing. A sectional door that rolls up on tracks over your head. Some people say it because that's what their parents called it, and some say it because Overhead Door is also a brand. If yours rolls up over your head, it's ours.
Do you work on Overhead Door brand doors?
Yes. We fix doors from the Overhead Door brand and every other maker we see around Grand Rapids. Springs, cables, rollers, openers and panels. The parts are standard sizes. The one thing we don't touch is TorqueMaster spring systems.

Can you replace the spring on an overhead door?
That's the most common call we get. We keep full-size torsion springs on the truck, so most spring jobs are one visit. If the door has two springs, both get replaced, because the second one is right behind the first.
