Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers,
no runaround.
The questions we hear most, answered the way we'd want them answered if it were our house. Still stuck? Call or text and a real local person will sort it out.
Most calls come down to three worries: what it'll cost, how fast we can get there, and whether we're going to be straight about what the door actually needs. Here's how we answer all three — plus the smaller questions on insurance, payment, and where we work. If yours isn't here, call or text 616-259-6233 and a real local person will sort it out.
Garage door questions, answered
How fast can you come out?
We're open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and broken springs or security-risk calls (door stuck open, car trapped inside) get priority — often within a few hours. When we're not booked out we aim for same-day. Call or text 616-259-6233 and we'll give you the next honest opening, not a fake window.
How does your pricing work?
We give you a free, up-front quote before any work starts — you see the exact number first, then decide. No hourly surprises, no upsell games. We don't quote repairs over the phone because a phone guess is usually wrong; a technician prices it honestly on site.
Is there a fee just to come out?
The quote is free. A technician comes out, diagnoses the door, and gives you an honest, up-front number before any work starts — you only pay once you approve the repair.
Do you offer financing?
No. We keep it simple: up-front pricing paid by cash, check, or card. No financing applications, no payment-plan markups.
What payment methods do you take?
Cash, check, and all major credit and debit cards.
What areas do you serve?
The Grand Rapids metro within about 25 miles of our Wyoming shop — Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Kentwood, Grandville, Walker, Jenison, Hudsonville, Byron Center, Caledonia, Cutlerville, Forest Hills/Ada, Cascade, Rockford, Comstock Park, and Allendale. See the full service area.
Can I keep using my garage door if a spring is broken?
No. With a broken spring the opener is dragging the door's full weight and will burn out, and a hand-lifted door can drop. Leave it closed and call us. More in broken spring: signs & cost.
Are you insured?
Yes — Elevation Garage Door is insured. Every job also ends with a photo log of the repair so you can see exactly what was done.
Do you work on commercial doors?
Yes — rolling steel, sectional, and dock doors for shops and warehouses, plus service plans to keep bays moving. See commercial garage doors.
Are you a national chain?
No. Elevation Garage Door is owner-operated out of Wyoming, Michigan, and a division of Elevation Home Co. When you call 616-259-6233 you get a local person, not an overseas call center.
